Saturday Laughs brings the big laughs to the Mayfair with a good natured comedy show with two of the country's top talents.
With opening act El Jaguar
Canadian comedy act El Jaguar is coming to Kaikōura, to wrestle his way into hilarity. From Canada, to New Zealand, and throughout Australia, El Jaguar is making a name for himself on the comedy scene using only his fast wits and tight lycra.
From the dusty streets of central America, rising triumphant as the luchador everyone wanted to be in the World Wrestling Federation circa 1990, then into obscurity: El Jaguar is making a comeback… and it’s going to be hilarious.
And headline act Cori Gonzalez-Macuer
7 Days regular and star of What We Do In The Shadows, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer has been performing his unique brand of self-deprecating observational and deadpan comedy since 2003.
In that time he's won the Billy T James Award, appeared on film and television, and performed in Australia, America, England, Scotland, Singapore and as far as the Middle East and South America, as well as appearing in Wellington Paranormal and the NZ Comedy Gala.

Marion Flavell and Tui Johnson
Marion ( Mother) trained as a graphic Artist in the early 80s and illustrated advertisements for the Southland Times News Paper in Invercargill, did freelance design for several agencies in Christchurch and illustrations for children’s books.
Tui (Daughter) trained as a graphic Artist and also illustrated for the Southland Times, she does freelance design country wide, and illustrates children’s books.
Mother and Daughter are also known for their Ceramic work.
Marion Sculpts predominantly natural forms Seals, Penguins, Whales, birds and free form ventifact shapes.
Tui throws her ceramics, creating glazed, functional, highly coloured and hand decorated Tableware, her trade mark decoration being the disappearing fish.
Mother and daughter continue to paint, illustrate books and collaborate on graphic design. Often they will be drawing or painting the same subject at the same time without the other knowing, which no longer surprises the other but seems to have become a given.
The pieces for sale presently at the Mayfair Theatre are not typical of Marion and Tui’s current work so they are planning a combined Exhibit in the near future at the Mayfair along with Marion’s other Daughter Niki who also creates and works with sand, collecting different coloured sands from around the country to produce her pieces.
Marion and the girls are of Ngai Tahu decent so their creations naturally seem to present in free flowing shapes and curves typical of Maori Design.
Marion and Tui take this opportunity to thank you for the interest you have shown in viewing their work.
